Image converters are useful for finding shapes and color groups quickly, but the first result is rarely the final artwork. Important edges break, details compete, and photographic noise becomes isolated pixels.
Pixel Art Tool keeps every generated cell editable. The converter establishes a base; painting, erasing, filling, sampling, and restoring let you decide what survives.
Local-first by design
Source images are decoded, converted, edited, and exported in the browser. They are not uploaded to an application server. Multiple named projects can be autosaved in that browser profile, and downloadable project files provide portable backups.
How the guidance is tested
The guides use the same conversion and editing controls available in the public tool. Suggested densities and palette ranges are starting points tested across icons, portraits, objects, and landscapes—not promises that one preset will work for every image.
Recommendations focus on observable pixel-art decisions: silhouette, cluster shape, palette hierarchy, texture, final grid dimensions, and crisp export. Guides are revised when the editor’s behavior changes.
