Operator and acceptance

Pixel Art Tool is operated by Tristan Jarrett. By accessing or using the website, editor, guides, or downloadable project format, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Who may use the service

Pixel Art Tool is a general-audience creative service. If you are not old enough to agree to these terms where you live, you may use the service only with permission and supervision from a parent or legal guardian. A guardian who permits use accepts responsibility for that use.

Permission to use the tool

You may use Pixel Art Tool without charge for personal or commercial creative work, subject to these terms and the rights attached to your source material. This is a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable permission to use the service; it does not transfer ownership of the application or its branding.

Your images and artwork

You retain any rights you hold in images you open and artwork you create. Pixel Art Tool does not claim ownership of source images, generated grids, manual edits, exports, or project files.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have permission to use, modify, and distribute source images and derivative work. The availability of an image online, or the tool’s ability to process it, does not grant copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights.

Local processing, projects, and backups

Image conversion, blank-canvas editing, resizing, and PNG or SVG generation occur in the browser. Multiple projects may be autosaved in local browser storage, but they can be removed by user action, browser settings, private browsing, storage cleanup, device loss, software changes, or storage limits. A request for persistent browser storage is not a guarantee against data loss. Download a .pixeltoolproject when the work is important. The service is not a cloud-storage or backup service.

Acceptable use

Do not use the service to violate laws or another person’s rights; create or distribute unlawful material; misrepresent ownership or provenance; interfere with normal operation; introduce malicious code; bypass access or security controls; probe for vulnerabilities without written permission; or use automated traffic in a way that burdens the service.

You may inspect exported files and use ordinary browser developer tools. The restriction above is directed at harmful, disruptive, deceptive, or unauthorized conduct.

Service materials and intellectual property

The application code, interface, site copy, branding, original examples, and other service materials are owned by the operator or provided under identified third-party licences. Open-source components and credited materials remain subject to their respective licences. See Credits & licenses.

Third-party services and links

Hosting, security, analytics, contact links, and referenced resources may be provided by third parties. Their terms and privacy policies apply to their services. Pixel Art Tool is not responsible for third-party content, availability, security, or practices.

Availability and changes

The service, features, limits, documentation, and project format may be corrected, changed, suspended, or discontinued without guarantee of advance notice. Reasonable efforts may be made to preserve compatibility with saved projects, but compatibility is not guaranteed. Access may be restricted when necessary to protect the service, users, or third parties.

No warranties

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Pixel Art Tool is provided “as is” and “as available,” without express or implied warranties. No guarantee is made that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, compatible with every browser, or suitable for a particular purpose. Always inspect exports and keep independent backups of important work.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive losses, or for lost data, projects, profits, opportunities, or goodwill arising from use of or inability to use the service. Where liability cannot be excluded, it will be limited to the minimum amount required by applicable law.

Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that applicable law does not allow to be excluded or limited.

Indemnity

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to be responsible for claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of the service, your violation of these terms, or your infringement of another person’s rights.

Severability and enforcement

If part of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent possible. A delay in enforcing a provision is not a waiver of the right to enforce it later.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated when the service or its operating arrangements change. The effective date will be revised when changes are published. Continued use after an update means the revised terms apply from that point.
